What exactly mixes in energy drinks and alcohol that kills you?

energy drinks
Kelsie asked:

I’ve researched that mixing too much energy drinks and too much alcoholic beverages can kill people. What makes it react that way?

Well I just know they don’t mix well. Also energy drinks contain so much caffeine. That it makes your hurt pump very fast and if you drink too much your heart could stop. I don’t know wat makes it react though. It may be that since alcohol already makes your heart beat faster, and if you add an energy drink it may burst.

Generally the actions of the person who has taken the alcoholic beverages and energy drinks in excess – rather than the beverages themselves are what kills people.

When someone drinks too much – they usually get tired and fall asleep… pass out… whatever.

However, if they include energy drinks into the mix.. they are hyped up on sugar, caffeine – whatever… and don’t fall down when they should.

I have never heard that this is a bad combination. Good thing I only drink beer. Many people around here order Red Bull vodka’s. I do know that energy drinks contain caffeine. Maybe that’s the bad combination. I don’t know. I’ve also heard that giving a drunk coffee won’t sober him or her up. Instead of a piddling drunk, you will have a wide awake piddling drunk, so the two don’t cancel each other out.

Perhaps its being awake long enough to poison oneself. Usually one would pass out before consuming that much.

The combo of multiple “uppers” and “downers” stresses the heart and the nervous system; the body is not sure what to ‘do’ get energetic or be drunk, granted it will be drunk because alcohol is more potent/powerful then Guranna or caffeine.

I would suggest avoiding mass amounts of both at the same time, one vodka and red bull ain’t gonna kill ya but if you plan on “gettin tipsy in the club” i would make it one and switch to coke an rum or somethin with less energy/vitamin supplements in it
