Can an energy drink be dehydrated ether threw boiling or evaporation, to become a powdered substance?
for those of you who keep posting it, propel, gatroade, are sports drinks, meant to rehydrate your body, energy drinks such as rockstar, bookoo, monster, or my fav wiredx505 are energy drinks meant to load you up on energy inducing drugs such as caffeine

    if the substances have a higher boiling point than the liquid used (i’ll assume water) then you can easily do that by boiling the water and evaporating it

    Probably, but it might be hard to rehydrate it.

    They actually make energy drinks in little sticks that you can put into your water bottle. I know they do it with Propel, not sure which others.

    yes but when rehydrated its not the same.
    why not just buy the powdered gatorade. they have done all the work for u.

    Yes, its possible. But it would not be economical or feasible for the layman to do it. If you just set a drink outside, for instance, all the ‘substance’ that makes an energy drink, an energy drink would evaporate with the liquid. You would need to dehydrate this in a lab environment.

    If you are looking for products that can be added to liquids to ‘turn’ them into energy drinks they are out there if you do a search. Mostly they taste nasty because caffeine is very bitter and needs the high sugar and sour flavor of the drink to counter the bad taste. There are exceptsions. Try the mints at They taste great and have all of the energy (actually more) of a Red Bull without the liquid. And they are a lot cheaper per ‘dose’! Grind one up and add it to tea and tell us what it tastes like!

    Yes, you can in fact boil the energy drink to evaporate the carbonated water in it. Or, you can leave it somewhere “safe” (Meaning not being touched for a while) and let the water evaporate by itself. After evaporating all the water, a kind of syrup will be left behind, which can be eaten, drink, or any way of being consumed. I’m guessing you’re wondering this in case so that you can “consume” more giving more energy without being full from the carbonated water.

    Yes, what’s instant tea, coffee plus vitamins. So far no demand, seen a few hit store shelves and die out after 1st stock is depleted, or thrown into a clearance basket.
